Mark is an award winning education technology expert, keynote speaker and independent consultant. He is one of the UK’s most in-demand speakers and strategic consultants for schools and is a passionate advocate for the purposeful use of technology.
His experiences of working with schools and technology have led to him working all over the world. Mark led on the teaching and learning and delivery on one of the world’s biggest 1:1 rollouts at Clevedon School which has led to him working with schools all over the world.
Known as @ICTEvangelist, Mark is the author of the best selling ‘Perfect ICT Every Lesson’ and has numerous published books on the iBooks store. With two decades of classroom experience, Mark knows the power and importance of student voice in developing sound practice having co-founded the Digital Leader Network in the UK. He is also an Apple Distinguished Educator, Google Certified Teacher and expert in mobile learning.
Mark has a proven track record of outstanding teaching and learning linked to innovative and deliberate use of technology. There are few others that have such experience of classroom practice, management and technical knowledge.

Sir Bernard Lovell School
Assistant Headteacher and Director of E-Learning where Mark oversaw the 1000+ iPad 1:1 scheme, managed the network team and led on the ICT infrastructure of the school. He oversaw the introduction of a new VLE and worked with the whole staff team on a variety of whole school projects. He was also the Head of the Computing, leading the curriculum team. He set up a number of key systems whilst at the school and developed the new version of the school website as well as introduced the school to social media.
Director of Digital Learning and Head of ICT, Mark led on the teaching and learning aspect of one of the world’s largest 1:1 iPad rollouts at the school. He was also responsible for the now infamous TeachMeet Clevedon which saw educators from all over the UK travel to learn and share with each other; a model which is now implemented in many teaching and learning conferences and Teachmeets across the country. During his time at the school Mark transformed the results of the department, introduced staff and the school to the world of social media in education. He was also lead teacher for ICT across the local authority and undertook research which fed in to local authority policy relating to sustainability. Mark was also staff Governor for four years.
Mark co-founded the Digital Leader Network in the UK with Sheli Blackburn and has been instrumental to many schools taking up the mantle of student ambassadorship. Teaching-wise before the above two schools Mark was a second in department in a large secondary school in East Anglia which had 1:1 laptops. He has been involved in research projects such as one to Texas which fed in to the introduction of the Citizenship curriculum across England and Wales.
